Greater Plantain (Plantago major L. or P.major), also called Broadleaf or Major Plantain, is a shorter rounder leaf than it's relative Ribwort Plantain (also known just as Plantain - see The Hay Experts Plantain here). It has a high fibre content and is reputed to be excellent at supporting digestive health as a result. It can also be extremely useful as an appetite stimulant in times of illness or recovery.

Greater Plantain is full of vitamins, minerals & other nutrients and has a long history of being used to aid wound healing as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It is also reputed to help support urinary and bronchial health and be beneficial to skin health too.

Because of its' great taste, it is popular with most small animals, especially rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.
